Why it helps
Help birds see the glass.
Reflections of sky and trees fool birds. Markings on the outside of the pane break up the reflection. The more of the glass they cover, the more they help.

Will these stop all window strikes?
No decal can promise that. Spread the markings across the pane, on the outside of the glass if you can.
